A little about me

Making technology work, it is what I do.

With my background in building technical solutions and experience in working with data, I aim to make your technologies work for you, not the other way around. I like the challenge of building solutions that have a positive impact on people and the wider business.

I am a Qlik Luminary, public speaker, STEM Ambassador, blogger with passion for analytics, helping and advising businesses find the right data solutions and talking to business leaders about the importance of data literacy and strategies.

I focus on data literacy to help people better understand the world we live in and help them make informed decisions. My passion for data literacy and the desire to tackle this in schools lead me to start up Kids in Data, where we aim to help children learn about data and visualisations through games.

Asides from being part of the Kids in Data, I work as a Solution Architect at Tahola LTD, work in many disciplines including – Business Intelligence (Data warehousing, Data modelling, Data analysis, Data visualisations/dash-boarding and ETL roles), Cloud infrastructures (Azure/AWS), Application development (.net core, c#, JavaScript, HTML).

Over the years, I have worked with number of technologies on many projects including web applications to data warehouse and visualisations. Majority of the times I found myself working with Business Intelligence solutions due to my experience in working with BI tools such as QlikView, Qlik Sense, MS BI Stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSMS, Power BI), SAP Business Objects, Oracle (OBIEE, Endeca) amongst other BI applications.

I have worked with many BI vendors over the years, however, I always find myself coming back to Qlik products due to their agile nature and the flexibility they offer. Qlik’s associative engine is something very unique in the crowded BI market. It provides the developers and users alike, a very intuitive way to interact with the data and discover insights.

My work as a solution architect allows me to push the boundaries, mainly with cloud based solutions and various Qlik APIs, to show the power of integration and the endless possibilities beyond the traditional BI tools that we are all so used to.

It is good to rub and polish our brain against that of others.”

Throughout my blogs here, I aim to share my experiences and learning on data solutions build around Qlik – a unique, intuitive and extensible modern data platform of the present day.

Away from the IT and data world, I am a keen cricket player and an ECB qualified coach, coaching young players to find their potential in sport.
